HBO has released a new promotional poster for its upcoming Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone television series, giving fans another look at Dominic McLaughlin as the famous young wizard.
The artwork puts Harry front and centre, with Hogwarts Castle visible in the reflection of his round glasses. The image also features the phrase “The Boy Who Lived”, referencing the event that made Harry one of the most recognisable figures in the wizarding world.
Hogwarts Takes Centre Stage
Rather than showing a full scene from the series, the poster focuses on Harry’s face and the reflection of the legendary wizarding school.
The design offers a glimpse of how the new adaptation will present the familiar Harry Potter universe. Hogwarts remains a key part of the story, marking the place where Harry discovers his magical abilities, builds lasting friendships and begins to understand his past.
The castle’s appearance in the promotional artwork also gives fans another detail to examine as anticipation builds for the television adaptation.
A New Cast Returns to the Beginning
The tagline refers to Harry’s survival as a baby when Lord Voldemort attempted to kill him. The failed attack left Harry with his famous lightning-shaped scar and changed the course of both their lives.
The upcoming series will revisit the events of the first book, following Harry from his childhood with the Dursley family to his introduction to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Dominic McLaughlin takes on the lead role, with Arabella Stanton playing Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout appearing as Ron Weasley.
The supporting cast includes John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid.
When Will the Harry Potter Series Be Released?
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is scheduled to premiere on 25 December 2026 on HBO, with streaming availability on HBO Max in supported territories, according to the reported release details.
The first season will adapt the opening instalment of J.K. Rowling’s book series. The television format also gives the production an opportunity to explore the story and its characters across a longer running time than a feature film.
With a new cast and a fresh visual approach, the adaptation is expected to introduce the story to a new audience while inviting longtime fans back to the wizarding world.
The latest poster adds another piece to the promotional campaign ahead of the series’ debut. Fans can now look forward to seeing how HBO brings its version of Hogwarts and Harry’s early adventures to the screen.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone arrives on Christmas Day 2026, subject to any changes to the announced release schedule.
